Lisbon - Treatment of severe spasticity with ITB therapy, a course for implanters

Course description

This course is designed to support the transfer of knowledge and experience which are essential to meet the quality standards required by this therapy. It includes not only a theoretical training but also on-site practical learning. The course program will cover an overview of spasticity and its clinical management, patient selection for ITB therapy, screening test and pump implantation and refill procedure, therapy optimization and maintenance.

Target Audience

Specialists (neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists…) with at least 2 years of experience in the advanced treatment of spasticity.

Learning objectives

At the end of this training participants will:

• understand the patient selection criteria for advanced management of spasticity with intrathecal drug delivery systems
• understand the use of Intrathecal Drug Delivery
• be able to implant, refill and program Intrathecal Drug Delivery systems
