Course description

This course is designed to support the transfer of knowledge and experience which are essential to meet the quality standards required by this therapy. It includes not only a theoretical training but also discussions and cases review. The course program will cover an overview of spasticity and its clinical management, patient selection for ITB therapy, screening test and pump implantation and refill procedure, therapy optimization and maintenance.

Target audience

Specialists (neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, rehab physicians, neurologists…) involved in the advanced treatment of spasticity with Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy.

Learning objectives

At the end of this training participants will:

  • understand the patient selection criteria for advanced management of spasticity with intrathecal drug delivery systems
  • understand the use of Intrathecal Drug Delivery

This training program will be in English language. An application for accreditation will be submitted with RIZIV in Belgium.

Participants should follow 105 minutes of E-learnings in the 2 weeks prior to attending the training and submit a clinical case presentation before January 20 to info@ecmt-training.com to be presented during the in-person training program.
