Denmark/Belgium - Pelvic Floor Neuromodulation

Course description

This 1.5-day course is designed for efficiency improvement in the application of Sacral Neuromodulation for the treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions: overactive bladder, non-obstructive retention, fecal incontinence, constipation and double incontinence. The course combines theoretical learning and cases analysis

Target Audience

Physicians with existing practice and continuous commitment to the application of Sacral Neuromodulation therapy in need of further practice development through optimization of patient selection, implant procedure and patient management. 

To ensure an advanced level of the course, the participants are required to have prior experience with the therapy of at least 8-10 implants per year and at least 3 years' experience with Sacral Neuromodulation.

To ensure an advanced level of the course, the participants are asked to prepare the following:

  1. Describe 1 difficult case based on experience, which needs to be submitted to the faculty 1 week prior to the course
  2. Be prepared to present and discuss the difficult case
  3. Be familiar with the literature list, issued for the course.

Learning objectives

At the end of this training participants will:

  • Select patients for sacral neuromodulation based on the latest guidelines and recommendations
  • Manage implant procedure to reduce side effects and complications
  • Program the device with advanced features to optimally manage patients in the long term.
