Online training - Pelvic Floor Neuromodulation Colorectal surgeons & Urologists

Course description 

This 6h virtual course -spread over 2 days- is designed for physicians who are interested to start and expand their knowledge in the application of Sacral Neuromodulation for the treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions: overactive bladder, non-obstructive urinary retention, faecal incontinence and double incontinence. The course focuses on theoretical learning as well as developing the surgical technique knowledge (through use of surgical video’s and its detailed overview and assessment). This will be an interactive training session with i.a. polling questions, use of annotation tools, Q&A sessions and a Quiz. Participants are invited to engage in an interactive way of learning

Target Audience

Multidisciplinary teams interested or plan to use Sacral Neuromodulation for the treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions (overactive bladder, non-obstructive urinary retention, faecal incontinence and double incontinence) with predominantly: Urologists, Gynaecologists, Uro Gynaecologists and Colorectal surgeons

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training participants will:

  • Have solid knowledge on Pelvic Neuromodulation techniques
  • Select patients for and clinically evaluate bladder and bowel neuromodulation technique effects
  • Use X-ray for the right position of the tined lead
  • have Basic knowledge on Programming the patient 

In a later stage participants will learn how to: 

  • Make tests with temporary electrode and tined leads
  • Implant Sacral Neuromodulation
  • Manage implant complications
