Montpellier - DBS for Movement Disorders

Course description

These 2 day tutorials offer stereotactic neurosurgeons the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the application of DBS for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia. The tutorials combine theoretical learning and hands-on experience (attend live implant).

Target Audience

Neurologists and Neurosurgeons with experience in treating Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia patients and interested in the use of DBS for the treatment of these conditions (referrers or implanters).

Learning objectives

At the end of this training participants will:

  • Implant DBS system according to the latest guidelines
  • Manage DBS patients
  • Master DBS in dystonic and dyskinetic syndromes
  • Position leads to maximize patient therapy benefit 
  • Avoid and manage post-implant complications
