Advanced Pelvic Floor Neuromodulation training program - Colorectal Surgeons & Urologists

Course description

This advanced course is designed for physicians to improve their practice in the application of Sacral Neuromodulation for the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions. The course combines theoretical learning and case analysis of pelvic floor dysfunction treatments, such as: urinary incontinence, non-obstructive urinary retention and fecal incontinence.

It covers insights and updates on the current literature and clinical practice, as well as addresses current debates and challenges in Sacral Neuromodulation. This course focuses also on advanced programming and troubleshooting, as well as how to optimize patient selection, implant procedure and patient management.

Learning objectives

The main objectives of this training program are to increase the knowledge and confidence about Sacral Neuromodulation and ensure the participants will know how to:

• Select patients for Sacral Neuromodulation based on the latest guidelines and published evidences
• Confirm and improve their standardization implant techniques for the optimal lead placement according to the experts’ recommendations
• Simplify Patient post-operative management
• Program the device with advanced features to optimally manage patients in the long-term
• Better manage challenging patient cases
• Start collaboration (if not already), with other specialties dealing with pelvic floor dysfunctions and consider developing pelvic floor clinics

with existing practice and continuous commitment to the application of Sacral Neuromodulation therapy in need of further practice development through optimization of patient selection, implant procedure and patient management. 

To ensure an advanced level of the course, the participants are required to:

1. Have prior experience with the therapy of at least 8-10 implants and at least 2 years experience with Sacral Neuromodulation
2. Please prepare the following:
   1. Describe 1 difficult case based on experience, which needs to be submitted to the faculty 1 week prior to the course, please send to info@ecmt-training.com 
   2. Be prepared to present and discuss the difficult case
   3. Be familiar with the literature list, issued for the course.
