Professor Philippe COUBES, MD, PhD is head of the multidisciplinary team “Intractable brain pathology” which currently manages adult and pediatric patients in two separated units (Department of Neurosurgery - Montpellier University hospital - France). He is director of the Research Unit on Movement and Behaviour Disorders (INSERM U 661- CNRS UMR5203). Montpellier's group has developped the use of DBS in many diseases associated with dystono-dyskinetic syndroms and/or behavioural disorders. He has especially contributed to the validation of MRI-guided stereotactic surgery under general anesthesia without MER.
