Course Description

These 2 day tutorials offer stereotactic neurosurgeons and psychiatrists the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the application of DBS for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

The tutorials combine theoretical learning and hands-on experience.

Target Audience

Psychiatrists and neurosurgeons with at least 2 or more years of experience with stereotactic neurosurgery. Participants should be interested in the use of Deep Brain Stimulation as an alternative treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and wish to learn the practical aspects of the therapy or improve and expand their knowledge on implant techniques

Course Objectives

Theory: inclusion & exclusion criteria, principles of Neuromodulation, mechanisms of action, Follow up

Surgery: targeting, trajectory, live surgery
